The Delta Blue Carbon Project

A public-private partnership across 350,000 hectares on the south-east coast of Sindh in Pakistan.

The Delta Blue Carbon project is the largest mangrove restoration project on the planet, demonstrating nature based removals at scale with best-in-class partners such as IUCN for community engagement and Inverto to enable enhanced measurement with Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (DMRV).

 

The protection, restoration and sustainable management of this natural resource is being led by Indus Delta Capital in partnership with the Government of Sindh.

Tackling climate change at scale

Delta Blue Carbon’s initiative to secure and enhance mangrove forests in the Indus Delta Area has proven transformational in mitigating climate change in Pakistan.

Protecting biodiversity

The project increases protection of the Indus Delta Key Biodiversity Area (KBA), including species of key concern, by addressing the threats to them and their habitats.
